Can we say "It's the BOMB.COM!"? WOW! Sweets are a weakness of mine, cupcakes in particular. If I were to ever open my own cupcake shop, it would be called "Crack Cakes", or not...it's still in the works. My friends Mary and Maureen have been bringing me cupcakes and sweets from this place and I loved it so much I had to see the store for myself. It's a cute little shop in the southport row of restaurants, bars and stores. Their signage is small and could be missed with a blink of an eye; I passed it twice before finding it and wondered if others had the same problem. As I walked in, I was in a state of euphoria, the aromas of fresh baked goods and coffee filled the air. Looking at the display case, I was tempted to get one of everything. From cookies to cupcakes, lemon bars to oreo bites with white chocolate fudge, I couldn't take it, it all looked so delicious. Unfortunately, the person taking my order was not very pleasant, anytime I asked her a question, it looked painful for her to respond and when she rung me up, she charged me double the amount and walked away. Luckily the manager was able to fix the problem and apologized. If I got to work around cupcakes all day long, I'd be the happiest person ever! Despite the service encounter, their red velvet cupcake was so moist and emulated the perfect color red. The cream cheese frosting wasn't too sweet or tangy, it was at the perfect temperature, making it that much easier to enjoy. I'm sure I will find something to celebrate, just so I can eat these cupcakes!
